We often look outward and feel displeased
With what’s going on around us
With what’s not meeting our expectations
With what we think should be right and what’s wrong
Meanwhile the world continues to revolve
It has always been constantly changing
But not our views and opinions
Stuck in the die-hard habits of our cultures and upbringings
The disappointment deepens with every generation
Until you look inward into your heart and mind
You cannot change the world or people one iota
Unless one chooses to of one’s accord
Look inward instead into your heart and mind
Your Oasis of Peace
Where Strength and Power resides
To build yourself to be strong
Based on Morality, Empathy and Integrity
That itself can spark Adulation and Change
Not by Force, nor Rules, nor Threat.
