The Emotional Human Being

December 9, 2022 by SUMMER LOTUS Leave a Comment

Dec 9th 2022 1 min read (The Power of Poetry)

The human being is a core of emotions

Easily moved, hurt and impassioned

Stay strong, stay firm, stay positive

The storms of life do get more active

It can make you lose your heart and soul

Then your body literally goes cold

Light it up, my friend

Face it and make a stand

Do not let them drag you to the ground

Where all hopes and dreams are trounced

Remember it’s just the range of emotions

That may have set you in negative motion

To do what you may regret

And that you will never forget

You are free to choose how you want to feel

Any card that life may deal

Choose to be happy, calm, and serene

In the end, the event passed as if in a scene

The next day brings another task

You now know well that everything is within your grasp.

Imagine

Rambling thoughts for The Power of Poetry

Imagine a life that is smooth sailing

It looks too good to be true

You live your life as if all are cool

But it is not good and meaningful

Imagine everyone is living the dream

No one learns anything

They live for themselves with ease

As if the world has eternal peace

No, no, no…

It will never be that way

Life is complex

But one need not be perplexed

The real world will put us to the test

With people, things, and stuff to dare us

That’s what will make life intriguing

As we think of ways to unravel anything

Imagine a world with challenges

That has always been so through the ages

I believe that we are endowed with divine guidance

That’s why the human race will forever advance.

Imagine a world with no troubles

That’s certainly not possible

But man has the ultimate rational, thinking brain

Only he can make any troubles wane.

I Will Overcome

When the world is turbulent

You do what you can to keep sane

Because it’s too far away

And fretting does not ease your pain

Life still goes on in your town

Your daily living remains challenging

There is no point to keep the frown

Live your best to be inspiring

When you can overcome your poor emotion

Then you will set in motion

A path to hope and peace

Your agony will finally cease.

Let not each day be a trouble

Each person has a unique path

All are within one’s power

Keep calm, keep cool and laugh

Why Argue?

October 24, 2022 by SUMMER LOTUS Leave a Comment

Know why ( The Power of Poetry)

Oct 24th 2022 2 min read

By Rosalind Ho using Canva.com

Why do people argue?

Do you pause and catch your breath?

And ask, “What are your three fundamental principles?”

Of worldview, personal outlook, and value

Do you consider these factors seriously?

If they are similar

You are likely to have a fruitful chat

If not, it is more likely to be a spat

What’s the use of argument?

Between persons of different thought levels and values

They will never have a meeting of minds

Even logic, feelings, and reality will turn blind

The human mind is not easily changed

Argument leads to more disagreement and discontent

Into a situation of being belittled

It may end a relationship and leave one bitter.

Silence may be a good response

Silence does not induce anger in the overbearing person

It does not mean that you are wrong

There is no need to prove your worth

Distant oneself

There is no necessity to be inclusive in everything

There is no need to win a verbal squabble

That will escalate to more trouble

What is a fruitful chat?

When there is a good feeling between the two

One of ease, connection, and comfort

When you share the three basic ethics

Reflect internally and know

Your worldview, personal outlook, and values

Before you start to argue with another

Then it is more likely to be a good heart talk.

Fret Not!

October 1, 2022 by SUMMER LOTUS Leave a Comment

…revelations from encountering the ups and downs of life

Sept 20th 1 min read ( Poetry)

By Rosalind Ho (using Canva.com)

When anxious, do not fret

You got to know what’s the facts

Your body reacts to uncertainty

As it succumbs to ambiguity

Fret not

Calm down and ponder

As there are things to consider

There’s always a way out

But one tends to cop out

Fret not

Accept the worst that may result

Think about the steps that can iron it out

Check with knowing friends who are kind

You need not keep yourself in a bind

Fret not

In any case, if you find no assistance

What you need is persistence

Go for a walk, pray and exercise

An answer will somehow materialize

Fret not

I have tried many a time when perturbed

Breathe, step back, relax and stay untroubled

There are really no problems one can’t solve

All you need is a calm resolve.

Man’s Worst Nightmare

September 20, 2022 by SUMMER LOTUS Leave a Comment

has a remedy….

Sept 11th 2022 1 min read (Poetry)

By Rosalind Ho using Canva.com

Man’s worst nightmare — -aloneness

The feeling of being mentally incarcerated is the ultimate punishment

Even in the comfort of one’s home

Even if there is a loving partner

Even when peace reigns in the country

Compounded by the sight of a slight drizzle

Compounded by a slow, sad song

Compounded by the cover of the impending darkness

Aloneness is the most bitter pill to swallow

Aloneness is more painful than a deep wound

Aloneness is man’s worst enemy

One wants to break free but how?

Walk, read, write, exercise, socialize, laugh sing, dance, work, play, rest, sleep, learn, observe, keep a pet, pray…..do them!

Suddenly, the alone feeling fades away like the fleeting cloud that passes

Oh, it is just a feeling, one of the gamuts of emotions that inhabit the human being…nothing more

One has a myriad of choices when feeling alone

With decisive and purposeful action, aloneness is substituted with calm, peace, gratitude, laughter, awareness, enlightenment, energy, and even joy…

One must fight it with determination, grit, and realization

It is only a feeling after all, not insurmountable

Things begin to lighten up and another wondrous moment beckons.
