The blistering cold shouldn’t be an obstacle to my goals

Even as it makes my teeth chatter, my lips quiver and my legs wobble

I have come here to ‘conquer’

To become braver in my moments of solitude

To step onto the cobble paths of England in the old towns

To bring back the imagination of ancient times 

To savour how far civilisation has arrived 

Let not any fear nor fantasy nor folly deter  me

I am here to learn and grow

I shall be richer by the end of the day

What I Think Of Aging

One sure sign of aging is when you run out of arm length during reading and you need to throw the book on the floor to read the words!

However, aging brings lots of benefits.

One perk of aging; you look at the amount of photos accumulated since childhood and feel qualified to say that great sounding phrase, “Ah, I have an archive!”

Aging either makes you crazy or a better philosopher.

The good thing about aging is that when the eyes, ears and teeth (first three systems of the body) go, we would finally see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.

One advantage of aging for middle aged adults is that relatives and friends will stop asking if you are going to have more children because you have run out of ‘eggs’.

Another advantage of aging is that generally your wallet would become fatter like your hip would become wider and you get treated with respect as a customer with purchasing power.

A further advantage of aging is that you start to look at the time that is left hence you become more appreciative of life. Carpe diam!

Certainly, it’s an advantage that as you age, you forget what you were angry about.

You realises that there is so much to celebrate about being alive and that the obstacle to happiness is yourself.

Why I Do Not Gamble

I do not believe in Gambling still

Whether it takes luck or skill

If you want money in your till

You do better to be good at a skill

I associate the Casino joint with Death;

Jackpot, a slow death

Roulette, a subtle death

Blackjack, a quick death

Poker, a deceitful death

First of the money, then of the spirit

Work is what I truly believe in

Everyday that you work, you win

More money, cheer and peace

And ability to live a life of ease
