Find Your Ikigai

April 23, 2024 by SUMMER LOTUS 1 Comment

……daily scenario in a busy train

24th April 2024. 1 min read (Poetry)

Commuters come and go

Some saunter into the cabin

Some budge in in a hurry

Faces of various expressions and moods of the day

One standing nonchalantly, wondering

Would it be a day that’s run of the mill

Or one that goes as he wills

Another frowns in a corner

He has a burden on his shoulders

Excited voices sound in the air

Laughter, giggles and gossips chatter

Lovely voices even if they stutter

To the dismay of some but indifference of others

The babble heard above the rattle of the train tracks

While the air plays the musical pings of boarding and getting off

Noses wheeze and coughs crackle while throats clear

And fellow commuters retreat in fear

You can retreat into your inner space

Surround yourself with a prayer of grace

Time marches on, the destination. draws near, and a task needs to be done

Till one finds one’s ikigai, life may not be exactly fun

Ikigai – – the reason to live

What Is Art

April 16, 2024 by SUMMER LOTUS 1 Comment

16th April 2024. 1 min read ( poetry)

It can be anything

That resonates with one

It can be clear as sky

As blurry as the fog

Like music it stirs the soul

It evokes a sense of happiness

Of this, nature is the greatest art

For it is evergreen and ever changing

But anything that melts your heart

That you deem as art

And becomes one with it

Is the Supreme art of the moment

If You Want To Truly Live

April 8, 2024 by SUMMER LOTUS Leave a Comment

8th April 2024. 1 min read (poetry)

If you want to truly live, you must be prepared to die

To want to ski but afraid to veer off into the ravine

To want to dive but afraid to confront the sharks

To want to climb but afraid to slip and fall

To want to travel but afraid to meet the unknown

Stay status quo and everything will freeze

Stay safe and you will never grow

Stay unchallenged and you will never taste joy

Stay untouched by risks and you will risks more than you ever know

Plan to die and you will start to live
