The more troubles you have the better you become

If you think otherwise you would finally succumb 

For a cushy life with everything served at your feet

Suits the people who are truly weak

You will be lulled into a state of complacency 

But the world is a surprising reality 

We are meant to face life’s unpredictable scenes

Using our resources to hone and scheme

To emerge victorious, wise and pleased

Even when the ups and downs of life never cease

Mirror, mirror on the wall

What’s the future of the traffic in S’pore

It’s about the changes that I saw

I don’t think they’re pretty at all

The daily congestion stirs my gall

And I fear the 6.5 million population call

Perhaps by then I may not leave home at all

It’s a mistake I did not heed

I never learn, I must concede

Did take a swig of that coffee brew

And so now the restlessness grew

Life’s a great teacher I would say

Make a choice and pave the way

For the consequences I have to face

And that applies to every case

Come, elusive Sleep

Dear mirror of mine

I see in myself a person of enormous potential

I see in myself the ability to achieve my goals

I see in myself the need to view things positively

I see in myself a driving force that can inspire others

Most important I see in myself the natural tendency to smile through all odds

That is because my mirror has these qualities
