The cafeteria that I had set foot in
Its cream-colored and warm ambiance beckoned me
I settled for an aromatic coffee
Time to stop being busy as a bee
A Coffee moment is a time for action
It is important for self-reflection
Especially in a cozy cafe like this
With a frontage you couldn’t miss
As I watched people went by in haste
My world slowed to a steady pace
My thoughts turned clear
The things that I hold dear
What do I want to do
Where do I want to go
What do I want to see
In short, what’s my legacy
I left the coffee house feeling steady
I felt my pace more steadfast
As sure as the sun rises
As sure as the moon sets
Well, a beautiful poem spontaneously crafted, just like that with no preconception or premeditation in a cafeteria .. Indeed it shows the power of language u possess, to be able to express so clearly the abundance of ur creative thoughts and ideas, as they flow thro ur gifted mind, being composed by the coffee aroma and the ambience of the splendid cafe. And having rested and reflected on the deeper meaning of life, u stepped out of the cafe with steadfast strides to face the world with confidence and poise as sure-footed as the sun will rise each day . This is the composure you have attained, renewed and refreshed by the coffee break. Thk u, well done and looking forward to read another poem and more.
The name summer lotus bestowed on you is indeed prophetic and aptly chosen, for the lotus flower is in itself a mystical flower where flower and seeds simultaneously appear.
It so inspired nichiren daishonin, that he created the lotus sutra chant of nam myo hore nge Kyo , to bring calm to one’s composite brain waves, to synchronise it with the natural frequency of the universe.
And when that happens, energy is built up in a person to experience a new reality , just like you push a swing in sync with its away. This phenomenon can be seen as foot soldiers march across a suspended foot bridge in tandem with the natural frequency of the bridge, and the energy build-up eventually causes the footbridge to collapse.
Thus all the poems written by summer lotus have the inspiring effect to transform a person mindset to see things in a new and enlightened way and thus set the person free of any self imposed bondage and thus be liberated as a caged bird is released.
