While everything around me renew

They continue to tempt me at every venue

The clothes, the food, the colours

Make my mind boggle

To Spend and  add another object

And expand my already burgeoning closet 

Let me say my peace

It may make many displeased 

A thing that seems so novel

Would become transient and temporal

But Poetry which is the real deal

Especially when written with heart, soul and feel

Poetry brings out the element, 

excellence and the essence of life 

Those who love poetry will visualise, survive and thrive

Stay calm at all times

In anger, your wit is naught

Avoid foolish acts

Like Haiku, it consists of 17 syllables, divided over three lines in a 5 – 7 – 5 pattern)

Published in the sweet life on medium

I approached a young person for directions in a mall

A nice young man who seemed to be bored

I wanted to tell him the world out there is for him to explore

I would love to cajole him, to motivate and to implore

Waste no time, young man

Live as best as you can

But I dared not intrude

As it may be construed as rude

He has to make his own decision

To wake up from his delusion

To step out of his comfort zone

Out there one will feel alone

But hey there, YOLO

Get out there, life’s meant to be lived even if solo

In times of trouble

Don’t let your anger or fear bubble

Keep your wits around you

Let not your anxiety stew

It’s not the money that you amass

Nor the beauty that you possess

But when beset with stress

It’s the ability to decompress

That’s the mark of maturity

Only you will find in you, an inner security

For the true winner can keep his calm

And nothing can cause him alarm

Instead he looks for hints of light

That would make his choices bright

He tackles smoothly any calamity

And alleviate even overcome his adversity

But the true winner has one more trait

He never fail to smile through it

His coolness makes others wonder

Does he ever ever flounder?

It could be at Robinson Crusoe’s Island

Except it is not

We thought that we need to go to some distant, famous place with a pristine sea

But this is a 2 hours drive from home

Often one does not look in one’s backyard

Where the gem lies

Often we think that the greener pasture is far far away

But there it lies within our reach

It is so with ourselves

We admire others’ talents

When we are unique, each in our own way

One just need to look within for your latent gift

Excavate, evaluate and expand

And be amazed at yourself

For you are the Pristine Sea.
